Donald B. Fournier "Red”, age 86, a 23 year resident of Lenox Township died Monday January 28 at Henry Ford Hospital, Clinton Township. Donald was born on August 30, 1932 in Mt. Clemens. Mr. Fournier was a Korean WarVeteran and an avid athlete in his younger day. After the service he worked for Ward and Van Nuck Asphalt Co. for many years and was also employed by General Dynamics. Before retiring, Mr. Fournier was co-owner of a gutter and siding business and was a member of VFW Post 7573 and Amvets Post 29. He loved spending winters in Florida with Shirley, his wife of 35 years. Mr. Fournier was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved his family around him. He will be greatly missed. Beloved husband of the late Shirley. Dear father of Charlene Iannazzo, Charles Smith, Jr., Laura Yell, Mark (Kay) Fournier, Victoria (Craig) Lyszczyk, Vicki Smith, Michelle Fournier (Mike Weinberger), Randi Schmid, Shawn (Michael) Goforth, Dawn Reinhold, Rai Ann (Mark) Marrocco and the late Jennifer. Loving grandfather of Loren, Michael, Lisa, Chad, Stacy, Ryan, Steven, Lynn, Adam, Emily, Mitchell, Pearl, Jack, Michael, Mark, Amber, Ashley, Kayla, Juliana, Isabella and 11 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Margaret (Melvin) Klein, Ann (Patrick) O’Rourke, Lucille McRae and James Fournier. Predeceased by his siblings, Mary Frances, Catherine, Eugene, John and Thomas. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the V.F.W. Cove in New Baltimore from 2 – 6 p.m. An Honors Guard ceremony will start at 2:30 p.m. with a eulogy to follow.
